Why you lose deals

Why you lose deals

If I had to use 1 word “Trust”

That’s why you lose deals

Your prospect DOESN’T trust that

  • Your product can solve their problem
  • You’re better than competition
  • Your pricing is fair

It could be any of the 100’s of reasons

And our goal is to get your accounts to remember you on a first-name basis

Yep, that’s the dream of many B2B marketers out there

And here are 5 simple tips to forge lasting connections with your B2B targets

Who knows, you might even get invited for a casual coffee 🙂

1) Be a source of knowledge, not just a sales pitch

Share RELEVANT case studies based on your target accounts' pain points.

That means

  • You spoke to them
  • Understand their pain points
  • And found the right channel to engage

You’re helping your prospects understand that they can win too

You can send these via emails or just on LinkedIn

2) Engage genuinely

Comment on their posts, join relevant LinkedIn groups, and offer support WITHOUT pushing your product.

Linkedin engagement tools like Breakcold and Taplio help me do this

What you should be aware of here is to steer clear of those automation tools

You don’t want to get banned

You don’t want to automate everything and keep things plastic

3) Make them feel seen and heard

Send TAILORED messages acknowledging their specific needs and pain points.

I use Recotap for personalized ads and messaging (call me biased)

Look, you can shoot a generic message & call it a day

Just know that it’s not true ABM then

You’ve got to personalize

4) Listen actively

RESPOND to their comments and questions promptly

Build a two-way conversation instead of a one-way broadcast

5) Host events for them

Invite them to your online/offline events.

Your goal is not to sell your product but to gain mutual trust and be comfortable.

Get them to a round table, invite them for a podcast, make them feel valued.

What you should take away from this

Relationships are not built overnight

It takes time and effort

Provide value, show genuine interest, and build trust

Do this much and you'll pave the way for long-term B2B success

More importantly, you’ll not lose deals
