1. About GDPR

GDPR is a regulation that dictates specific requirements with which businesses must comply to protect the personal data privacy of EU citizens, to bring in a system for processing customers’ personal data. You can obtain a GDPR checklist for data controllers at the  official GDPR website.

2. How does Recotap's data partners source business contact data?

The business contact database is built with data derived from multiple yet carefully evaluated sources. techniques like SEO crawler are used to scan pubic websites and to build the database. The email-ids stand through zero to minimal bounce rates with software that performs a periodical refresh of the database.

A number of third-party partnerships allow for constant data cleanups, and to obtain data as accurately as possible.

3. Can end users opt-out of the Recotap Database?

Anyone can opt-out of the business contact database at any time. To do this, they may write to support@recotap.com, mentioning their communication preferences. However, this does not include the transactional emails sent to our customers. The customer shall receive a confirmation once the data has been removed. The usual time for removal activity is 7 days.

4. What Is Double Opt-In And Why Is It Important?

Double opt-in is a system for adding new contacts to your email list that involves collecting an email address through a signup form and sending a confirmation email to that address in order to validate the contact information before adding it to the list.

This helps you ensure that your subscribers really want to receive your emails by adding the extra step to the signup process. In this way, it is also easier for your marketing teams to know if they’ll be more likely to engage with your emails and less likely to unsubscribe or mark your emails as spam.

5. How Does Recotap Protect Its Customer Data?

Recotap takes precautions, including appropriate administrative, technical and physical measures, to protect data about our customers. Data of users are securely stored in a database that is encrypted and made to be accessible only through the Recotap interface (nodes). The database service is deployed within a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) hosted on Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud or AWS which is SOC2 compliant. To prevent the misuse of the login credentials, passwords are AES encrypted and stored in the database.

6. How do our Customers become compliant with GDPR?

In order to make our customers compliant with GDPR, our data sources by default exclude the contact information of EU residents. If you would like to get access to the contact information of EU residents, please write to us support@recotap.com
